On 25th March it's the sport relief mile.
I'm not going to take part as its on a Sunday and I will be busy, but I've decided to set myself a goal of being able to run to (or from) work on Friday 23rd March.
I live 1.3 miles (going by the quickest route) away from work and I can divide the run into 9 sections and the idea is to run just that little bit further every day until I can do the whole thing.
The last time I ran any distance was at school and that was an awful long time ago so this is quite a challenge I've set for myself. It should also help me shed a few pounds which is my overall goal.
I shall start tomorrow at 5.30 am which is good because it's dark and nobody will see my red as a lobster face as I gasp in vain for air!

Make a record
One of the things I've learnt this week while trawling the Internet is that if you want to get fit, you need to keep a record. It helps see where you've come from, and how close (or far away) from your goal you are.
My goal is to lose 30 Lb by the end of August which in theory is doable. Even if I lose 1 Lb a week I have over 26 weeks to achieve it.

Now I don't know about you but I'm rubbish at writing things down. Either forget or more often than not lose the notebook I was recording everything in. The best solution I've found so far is My fitness pal it's an iPhone app that lets you record everything!
First you add your details like age, weight, height, etc and then it works out the amount of calories you should be eating each day.
You can also add exercises from walking to cycling to going down the gym.
The thing I really like is the ability to scan barcodes of the food you've eaten and the app tells you how many calories you've just put in your face. So yesterday My can of Heinz beef, tomato, and onion soup, cost me 214 calories.
According to myfitnesspal my half hour on my exercise bike burnt 631 calories! Although my bike says I burnt 356.
As long as I eat less and burn more calories I should lose weight!

I must start losing weight now!
I have a very good reason to lose weight. I can't say what it is yet other than in a few months I will be wearing Lycra in front of at least 200 people.
This means I need to lose a noticeable amount of weight.
My preferred instrument of torture is my York c202 exercise bike which I really like and actually enjoy using.
When the weather gets warmer and drier I will spend most of my Saturdays cyclocaching (my word for cycling and geocaching) and during the week i will be on my exercise bike.
I weigh 232lbs at the moment which is far too much. I would like to eventually get down to 185.
We shall see how I get on.....

350
I have found 350 geocaches!
I am ranked 5402 in the UK (well joint 5402 with nine other people)
I also rank 98606th in the world (along with around 250 other people) I got these amazing statistics from cacherstats.com
This website tells you everything thing you need to know about everyone who has found over 200 caches in the World!
I may not be competing in the Olympics this year, but I can compete with other cachers and watch myself jump up the league.
My goal for 2012 is to have found at least 150 more caches this year so I will have found 500 caches.
That should be achievable!

Underarmour Mens CG Leggings!
A few weeks ago it started to get really cold and I needed some warm leggings to wear for work.
After much looking around the Internet I chose these babies.
They are warm.
Excellent if you wear them as part of an Ostrich outfit (like you do!) I wanted proper leggings instead of tights but couldn't find any in the summer so had to resort to cutting an orange morph suit in half! Another thing about these leggings is they also make your legs look really amazingly muscular! (it's just a shame my belly hangs over the top of them, but I'm working on that one)
I've used them at work, but also this morning when I went for a cycle and they kept my legs really warm.
They are much better than the thermals I used to wear because they don't ride up your legs and bunch up at the knees, which is quite annoying if you drive a fork truck like I do and theres a cold wind!
So if you need some good leggings to keep you warm and don't want to end up wearing tights, get these leggings. They are expensive, but worth it as well!

101 Days Slump Ends!
Today I found my 1st Geocache for 101 days!
I've been too busy doing other things to go treasure hunting since September, and decided this morning the slump was going to end.
It was quite cold this morning (about 4 degrees) so I wrapped up warm and went looking for one of the local caches thats been haunting me for ages. The cache was only about two miles away so it didn't take long, but i was a bit wary because i had to go along Sewell Greenway (popular with dog walkers, horses, and muggers).
It was trying to rain as well so i only saw one other person. He looked a complete noob riding along on a brand new flashy mountain bike. It looked Christmas and he had all the gear including helmet, hi viz vest, and cycling leggings.
He looked a noob because he was struggling along using completely the wrong gear for a slight (1.5 mile) incline. All i was wearing was track suit bottoms, t shirt, an old fleece, and some work gloves and i was lovely and warm. He must 've been sweating like a pig with all the gear he was wearing!
Anyway it didn't take long to get to the cache site and find a nice (and quite large) magentic cache filled with goodies!
A quick sign of the log and post the find on my iphone and i was off looking for the next cache. Unfortunately it started to rain harder and I neded to visit people, so I left the next nearest cache for another day.
On New Years Eve I will be going to London to hide some travel bugs and find some more caches. I will try and take photo's of the interesting places I go to and will hopefully write a post or two about my adventures.
We shall see.....

Coolness!
I have an iPad!
This means I can start blogging again whilst sitting on my settee and watching tv. I used to do that before my laptop died and it was very easy to blog once a day.
Knowing that nobody will ever read this blog (except googlebot) means I can write whatever I want about anything I like.
So that's what I'm going to do!
